Bronze Moon Gazing Hare Celtic Pagan Wiccan Statue Sculpture
Moon Gazing Hare
The image of the hare gazing upwards to the moon is always associated with fertility, immortality, wisdom and courage. The hare was once classed as royal animals and it was forbidden to kill or capture them. Many Celtic goddesses, witches and mythical figure were said to be shape shifters who could be seen as dancing hares in the moon light. These Shape-shifting witches in the form of hares were even said to cause cows to stop producing milk, women to miscarry children and even be responsible for the infant deformity known as the "Hare Lip" in new born babies. Many stories also formed from the wild sexual energy and night time activity of these fascinating and magical animals.
This is a cold cast resin sculpture that is blended with bronze metal powder to achieve a cold to the touch heavy metal like appearance, it is not! sold metal.
The sculpture stands 18.5cm height and is 11cm at widest point
