Mechanical Haunted Music Box, Motion Activated, Paranormal Tool
This is our version of the ever-popular music box investigation tool. You will find many variations of this concept in the paranormal field, including on TV shows such as "Ghost Adventures". We have created a steampunk aged haunted object aesthetic, rather than the usual black plastic box. Using a real wooden box not only has a more interesting trigger object appearance but it also provides a richer resonating sound from the solid metal mechanical movement.

Our Haunted Music Boxes are all created by hand so they will vary in: colour, detail, and aesthetics, However, they all contain the same mechanical and electronic functions, unless otherwise stated.

The top of the box has the metal musical box movement (which is surface mounted), a metal On/Off rocker switch and a red LED indicator to show when the device is activated. The top is also decorated with metal cogs and studs for added charm. When the sensor on the front side of the box picks up movement it will trigger the mechanical movement which will not only rotate playing a haunting tune, it will also illuminate in a flickering ghostly green light from within the movement. The box opens on metal hinges and has a small metal clasp lock. Once open you will find the battery box set within a crushed velvet covering. We have designed it to operate on 3x AA batteries which are both inexpensive and readily available. The box can be placed facing any direction but should be turned away from any human activity in order to prevent false triggers. How long the batteries last will depend on how often it is triggered, but you will get an intuitive impression of when to renew the batteries as the music box will gradually play the tune slower and slower over time, therefore, you will have plenty of warning.

How does the Haunted Music Box work?

The box incorporates a sensitive motion sensor on the front side of the device. When it detects a movement a signal is sent to the mechanical music box movement that illuminates a flickering green light as it plays the haunting melody. As we use a wooden box just like a traditional Victorian music box it resonates with the sound vibrations producing a nice full sound. Playback will last about 5 seconds and then once again return to stand-by.
