This stunning Baphomet statue is made from cold cast Resin and is hand painted to give it a Bronzed like distressed aged finish. Stunning in detail and dramatically iconic as it depicts Baphomet in his classic pose as visualised by French occultist Eliphas Levi 's book in In 1861.
This modern depiction of Baphomet (1861) is a winged humanoid goat with female breasts sitting crossed legged on top of the Globe. He carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, his two hands forming the sign of Hermeticism & the flame of intelligence between his horns (the magic light of the universal balance) Baphomet's phallus is actually Hermes' Caduceus - a rod intertwined with two serpents. This ancient symbol is has been representing Hermetism for centuries. The Caduceus esoterically represents the activation of chakras, from the base of the spine to the pineal gland, using serpentine power (hence, the serpents) or Astral Light. Representing the duality of male and female, Heaven and Hell, night and day, many things to many people. It can be taken in fact, to represent any of the major harmonious dichotomies of the cosmos.

Who / What is the Baphomet
Theories on the etymology of the Baphomet are many, from a joining of two Greek words meaning absorption into wisdom, a corruption of the Moslem prophet "Mahomet" a Templars rituals demonic idol or a figure of occultism and Satanism "Sabbatic Goat" even often mistaken for Satan himself.
Ultimately the Baphomet is an imagined pagan deity (i.e., a product of Christian folklore concerning pagans) and is one of the most recognised and iconic images of our times. It is thought that with all the modern negative depictions aside, Baphomet in its true meaning is much like the symbol of Yin & Yang, light and dark and good and evil coexist together. "So above, so below" Hence Baphomet is a representation of all things in balance. He is also a representation of freedom & freedom from control.
This Baphomet form is always going to be a talking piece where ever you place it, whether as part of a shrine or simply a striking piece of Gothic art. Be sure to know a little about his story as you will most certainly be asked to explain his presence to the curious onlooker.
